“I don’t have time to exercise.”
How many times have you heard or have yourself said this before? I know I have!
Between the job, kids, family, cooking, cleaning, the random “to-do” list, and of course a social life, there is always going to be an excuse to not exercise.
Many times we think that exercise needs to be blocked out in our schedule for at least an hour.
Well get ready to throw out the “no time” excuse from your vocabulary!
Research has proven that a short 15 minute intense exercise workout can be just as effective as an hour long moderate pace exercise routine. In order to see change, the body needs to be stressed. This is why INTENSITY over VOLUME is vital.

Research has proven that a short 15 minute intense exercise workout can be just as effective as an hour long moderate pace exercise routine. In order to see change, the body needs to be stressed. This is why INTENSITY over VOLUME is vital.Here is a example of a 14-15 minute workout:
Floor pushups for 20 seconds( do as many as you can do in that time) rest 10 seconds then repeat 5 times
* Rest for 1 minute
Mountain climbers for 20 seconds ( do as many as you can do in that time) rest 10 seconds and repeat 5 times
* Rest for 1 minute
Ball or Floor Crunches for 20 seconds ( do as many as you can do in that time) rest 10 seconds and repeat 5 times
* Rest for 1 minute
Body Weight Squat for 20 seconds ( do as many as you can do in that time) rest 10 seconds and repeat 5 times
Done, Done, and Done… Total: 14 minutes
So turn off that TV or shut the laptop and get moving!
What’s your biggest excuse in not exercising?

such a great post. yea i think theres always timet to exercise.. it just needs some creativity to how u view exercise. if all u think about is the gym then ya it would be hard to get up and force urself to go frequently. but even when im locked in at home i do lunges or run up my stairs or do pushups. anything to get the blood pumping and my energy up. so informative this post tho. thank you! xoxo
Yes! Fit it in when you can! I think HIIT and other intense, shorter forms of exercise can be amazing. Totally going to enter the vita giveaway- love those things!
Great post! I did one about time today too!
Good post! I did a shorter workout today, but I didn’t push it as hard as I usually do!
What a great post, and a great reminder that it doesn’t take a lot, it just takes something.
I agree! On days I think I’m too tired or busy, I try to do at least SOMETHING. SELF.com has a great 18 minute workout, too!
I love that you point out that even 15 minutes of exercise is better than nothing. I try to remind myself of that when I come up with excuses.
YESYESYES!!!
it all adds up and 15 minutes a day every day can really be enough.
great post and tips
Carla
sooo true! anything is better than nothing!
I’ve been exercising for so long now – there are no excuses. Exercise has become an important part of my daily routine.
Awesome ideas! Little things truly do add up.
This is a great post with some great tips! I fall into this trap all the time, which is so unproductive. I find myself thinking that if I don’t have time to do the “full” workout I have in mind, I’m better off not doing anything. Definitely messed up logic and counter-productive! The little things we do add up. Thanks for the quick workout!
Oooooh mountain climbers are killer!! I totally agree. As are burpees.
Great workout ideas! While it can be hard to make time, it IS doable if you make it a priority!
my excuse usually is i am tired from work! but most of the time, once i start i feel energized
Great post! You are so right, so often we say we don’t have time to exercise because we tell ourselves that we have to work out for an hour. The exercises you list are an awesome 15 minute workout!
Thanks for the reminder–I’ve been so busy lately, sometimes I forget to just use the few spare minutes I do have to get up and move!
