Three years ago today I married the man of my dreams. And that dream keeps getting better and better! In the past three years James has been my biggest cheerleader, motivator, encourager, and best friend. What more can I ask for?
Three years ago today I was anxiously awaiting the clock to strike 4pm for my life to start as Mrs. James Rogers. While it seems like just yesterday that we tied the knot, it also seems like eternity that we have been together.
In these past three years we have gone through a lot together between moving states, enduring nursing school, online masters program, and sharing our lives with 400+ students. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Our lives together are quiet unique living in a dorm yet our passion and love for college students has made this adventure 100x better as we share our passion in this ministry. Not to mention we have been blessed with great students to share our lives with. My hope and prayer is that our marriage and love would be an example to the students in our lives of what a Christ centered marriage looks like.
Going to bed at 2am last night, I was excited to sleep in on our actual anniversary. Vacation is all about sleeping in, right? WRONG! The husband’s alarm clock went off and on the 2nd time I was starting to get irritated… bad way to start off our anniversary day. Until he rolled over and told me I better get ready… ready for what you ask? My amazing husband surprised me with a morning at the spa. SCORE!
Along with a one hour swedish massage I enjoyed the amenities that comes along with the spa including the actual spa, sauna, and steam room. I spend majority of my time in the eucalyptus steam room sweating out the toxins… if you know me, 120 degree rooms are like heaven on earth. Confession, I may or may not have busted a few Bikram Yoga moves when no one was in there. The temptation was just too strong to bear.
After the massage I took a shower in one of the most amazing showers I have ever been in. They called it a rainforest shower. A digital shower with water spraying from all directions. The only thing that got me out of the shower was the fact that my stomach was eating me alive.
The rest of the day was spend working out with hubby and tanning out by the pool. As my husband said, “It’s a tough life, but someone has to live it.”
