Low Calorie Lettuce Wraps Low Calorie Lettuce Wraps

Just the name “Lettuce Wraps” sound like they would be a healthy option when going out to eat… but be careful. Some restaurants like to douse lettuce wraps in tons of oils, sauces, and fats.

pf changs lettuce wraps 300x300 Low Calorie Lettuce WrapsJust check out the P.F. Chang’s Lettuce Wraps (one of my favorites) … 630 calories and 12g of fat. I’m afraid to know how much sodium is in these little guys.

Cooking at home is great for several reasons, but I mainly love the fact that I can control the amount of sauces, oils, and fats that go into food preparation.

Here is a great healthy, low calorie lettuce wrap recipe that will leave you satisfied without all the calories and fat!

Ingredients

2 cups Boca Ground Crumbles lightly seasoned with salt and pepper

Low Calorie Lettuce Wraps½ cup diced onions

1 cup diced celery

¾ teaspoon garlic powder

8 oz sliced water chestnuts-drained and coarse chopped

6 scallions sliced thin on the diagonal

¾ cup snow peas

Roasted Garlic Teriyaki Sauce Low Calorie Lettuce Wraps½ cup diced mushrooms

½ cup shredded carrots

Handfull of toasted almonds

Roasted garlic teriyaki sauce and or Low Sodium Soy Sauce

½ head iceberg lettuce, cored, quartered, and peeled into individual leaves

Directions

* Heat a large skillet or wok with a generous amount of Cooking Spray

* Add Boca, onions, celery, and garlic powder. Cook till the onions are golden brown

* Mix in water chestnuts, snow peas, mushrooms, and carrots

I actually LOVE PF Changs lettuce wraps! I figured those calories aren’t bad for the WHOLE plate! Cheesecake Factory and California Pizza Kitchen’s are worse – over 1000 calories for the plate! Eeek

Ruth- Is Boca made with soy? I can not eat soy products, and wondered if you have substitutions in this recipe?

These look so good (and tasty). I actually made faux egg rolls using what I’d put in an egg roll but wrapping in steamed bok choy. LOVE healthier options like this.

Carol May 12, 2010 at 12:54 pm

The sodium in the regular PF Changs wrap is over 2,200mg…WOW! I love that this is healthier, but how much healthier?? What are the numbers (calories, carbs, etc) for this??

Mari May 12, 2010 at 1:19 pm

Thank you so much for your comment on my site…I have no faith in myself…so all the support people are showing me is heartbreaking…I really don’t know what to do …starting a new job , which one?? , and should I move for it…there is one that seems “good” but I would have to move a few hours away…which seems stressful now…but it would save money in the long run…ahhh.

I LOVE your site by the way -awesome!!

I love wrapping things in lettuce…the Koreans do that all the time, but their version is not exactly low-calories, haha. White rice and marinated meat and sesame oil!
