A much-needed getaway, we decided to celebrate our anniversary out in Palm Desert, lying out by the pool and enjoying quality time together.

After a long 4-hour drive, we finally made it to the JW Marriott Resort and Spa. After arriving to our room, we realized that our balcony had a wonderful view of the . . . parking lot. After calling down stairs we asked for a better view and within minutes we had a lake front view of the golf course and pool. Now that’s more like it.

Yesterday we met up with my parents to celebrate Father’s Day at Chili’s Bar and Grill. One of my favorite restaurants solely on the chips and salsa… I don’t even know why I go here, I can never control myself with these endless chips.

I ended up splitting the Quesadilla Chicken Explosion Salad with my dad. Ironically I’m lactose intolerant and opted out on the cheese and gave the quesadilla that comes on the side to my dad. All dressings on the side left for one healthy salad and a satisfied stomach

That evening James and I enjoyed a quiet night in the spa. A cool breeze and a beautiful view ended a perfect night.

This morning I decided to wake up early and head over to the Starbucks that’s inside the hotel. With our hotel came a $50.00 credit per day to anything in the hotel. You know what that means… FREE STARBUCKS! Happy Anniversary to me. However, this can be very, very dangerous. Since I started my Starbucks marathon at 8am I am going to have to pace myself and get in a little gym time before hitting the pool with another drink.

For now I’m pure bliss with an iced coffee & 2 pumps white mocha and blog in hand.
