Happy Belated Father’s Day!
I am one lucky girl to be so blessed with an amazing father. When it comes to the father department, my dad beats them all out of the water. He has been self-less & sacrificial throughout my life in helping me achieve my goals and dreams. . . even those that weren’t so realistic like going to the Olympics. He still drove me to and from gymnastics with over an hour each way and killing over 4-6 hours while I had practice.
These drives to and from gymnastics were one of the most vivid memories of my childhood as we laughed, cried, and screamed together. And the very last drive away from that gym was one of the toughest days I will ever forget, but one my father was there to hold my hand as I cleaned out my locker.
It was in college my dad & I really bonded through difficulties in my health and while he was going through tough times as well. We clung together like peanut butter on bread as we drove back and forth to the hospital 2-4 times a week for testing. Never figuring out what was wrong, he was there to hold me hand and encourage me when we wanted as an answer to the health situation.
It was after college that I called my dad to share with him that I was engaged. . . guess I wasn’t the first to know. He was sitting by the phone waiting for me to call. It was during these times that my dad was there to celebrate one of the most exciting days of my life as he not only walked me down the aisle, but married me to the man of my dreams.
Now 3 years later & 5 hours away, I can always count on my dad to be on the phone to share in laughing, crying and screaming.
Luckily for me, I was able to spend Father’s Day with this amazing guy. It was a great surprised when we realized that my husband and I would be about 2 hours away celebrating our 3-year anniversary, so we met half way for dinner.
And to my surprise, he brought WICKET! Literally the best dog ever.

Happy Father’s Day!
What did you do yesterday for your father?

Your dad is the best! I wish all the ladies I know could say this about their fathers…what a great thing to have a loving dad that remained a dad throughout your life. A real gift from God.
We cleaned my dad’s office for him on Saturday..QUITE the job!!
I LOVE these posts about the dads! Thx for sharing!
