There’s nothing better than having a bunch of rotten bananas… it gives me the excuse to make banana bread!

banana walnut bread starbucks 300x223 Low Calorie Banana BreadBut lets face it, banana bread is usually loaded with sugar, butter, and oil. Just check out the nutritional content of Starbucks Banana Bread: 390 calories, 15 grams of fat, and 33 grams of sugar… and that’s one little slice!

This is why I love baking! With just a few tweeks to any recipe one can make a great low calorie treat!

Here is a non-fat, no-sugar banana bread recipe that is will turn those rotten bananas into great use.

Low Calorie Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients

* 1 ½ cup flour

* 1 teaspoon Stevia

* ½ teaspoon baking soda

* ½  to 1 teaspoon cinnamon

* 1 tablespoon sugar free maple syrup

* 2 egg whites

* 3-4 (rotten) bananas

* ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

*To add in some healthy fats, throw in some walnuts*

Directions

* Pre-heat oven to 350

* Mix together all dry ingredients (flour, Stevia, baking soda, cinnamon)

* Mix liquid ingredients into dry ingredients (syrup, egg whites, bananas, applesauce)

* Pour into greased pan and bake for 50-55 minutes until golden brown


Sprinkle Stevia on top and Voilà… a delicious, moist Non-Fat Banana Bread

this is really incredible. i love also that u have a starbucks coffee cup in the background.. i thought when i first looked that it was just a slice from starbucks!! but its homemade which is crazy. and for 110 calories.. umm i think id love to much on a few of them for sure :P

i could totally make this wheat free too!

hmm rotten bananas must be eaten asap. never could i toss one. i’ll eat them black- for real! lol

Yummy! I love to mash bananas and cook them right into oatmeal. Just add the mashed banana right to the cooking water. Yum!

Bananas don’t last long enough around here to get rotten. :) But that’s about to change, because I *must* make this bread.

nana bread is awesome. Sometimes I wish I could speed up my bananas going bad ;) Great recipe! I usually make banana bread or smoothies with mine

that looks great and i make banana bread or muffins. gluten free and vegan, if you search in my site the word banana bread, 2 links will come up you may like.

OR make banana softserve. freeze them and blend em!

I haven’t made banana bread in a while… Right now I freeze my brown bananas to make banana soft serve.

Banana bread is my favorite. I either put them to use in bread form or freeze them. Especially in the summer because they are the best base for smoothies!!

I also use rotten bananas for bread. I found a great recipe recently. Healthy too! Usually I only have one rotten at a time, so I throw them in the freezer, when I have about 5 I make bread.

I love over-ripe bananas. I usually let them sit on my counter until they’re just about black, then freeze them and make banana soft serve.

They also sweeten up my quinoa porridge amazingly. Mmmm…
