Breakfast… it didn’t get it’s name for any old reason, it has a deeper meaning behind it. Breakfast means to break the fast since dinner the night before. With that being said, breakfast is the most important meal of the day to not only get your body fueled up for the long day ahead, but to also rev up that metabolism to burn more calories.

pancakes1 Protein Pancake RecipeWith pancakes to waffles and pastries, the ideal American breakfast is far from any great way to fuel up. What we need is some great protein, complex carbohydrates, and fiber in the mix to keep that blood sugar stable and your body running at full speed.

I’m pretty boring when it comes to breakfast and eat pretty much the same thing every day: oatmeal and Greek yogurt.

I’ll have to make your pancakes!

Love it! So simple. I actually have to keep it on the lower protein side for health reasons, but I think my favorite is brown rice cakes with nut butter protein “frosting.”

My latest go-to breakfast is homemade “refried” beans that I make in the crockpot once a week and reheat each morning with some low-fat monterrey jack cheese on top. Protein, fiber, and carbs all in one:)

Lately I have been obsessed with this rice protein powder that I found one day while browsing the aisles at a pharmacy! It’s by Rainbow Light and it’s cinnamon-vanilla flavored, it’s great! Not only is it packed with protein but it also has a little bit of carbs which are mostly from fiber! Plus it has so many vitamins, minerals, etc… and it TASTES GOOD! I mix it with egg whites and then when done I sprinkled it with cinnamon & stevia! Perfect!

This morning I made butternut squash/pumpkin pancakes (just like above but without the rice protein) which was equally as good!

And of course, I cannot go wrong with an over easy egg, some egg whites (with paprika & pepper & cilantro) and a side of roasted butternut squash mixed with pumpkin & cinnamon!

OMG – a pancake recipe with no gluten!?! Amazing! Am going to try it this weekend. :)

My fave is unsweetened natural yogurt with muesli. I also really like just slightly over-ripe banana mashed up with peanut butter and muesli. Sounds weird. Looks gross. Tastes amazing.

Those look delicious!

I love cracking an egg into my porridge, then topping it with nut butters and fruit. Keeps me full for *hours*. :D

This looks really good! I love pancakes for breakfast on weekends.

For protein breakfasts I like to eat 2 eggs and a slice of toast. Or, I’ll have a smoothie with whey protein and PB added.

Breakfast is my very favorite meal of the day!! Nothing beats a bowl of whole grain cereal in my opinion!

I love me some protein pancakes & love them topped with coconut PB! I won that & love it!

I have a few fav protein breakfasts.. I like them all! Some involve my protein PB.. different from the coconut PB! I usually always have one of my homemade protein bars too!

I LOVE protein pancakes. For protein-packed breakfast, I have some staples….protein pancakes….salad w/chicken/turkey (yes, for breakfast)…protein powder + egg white mix (yes, I’m weird)… :)

My favorite breakfast is a mix of natures path cereals; wheat free millet rice and herritage. For protein I add chopped walnuts and hemp hearts. Then I add some low glycemic fruit such as blueberries and top it all with almond milk…YUM! A perfect balance of protien, carbs, fruit and fiber. I just can’t bring myself to change it up. Smiles, Nancy

I have oatmeal almost everyday. It’s like comfort food for me, and so filling. I like to add different things to it: apples, blueberries, pumpkin, raisins, various spices, and VANILLA! No nuts in my house, unfortunately, as my niece has a severe allergy.
