I stopped weighing myself for about six months or more. I judged my weight gain or loss by the way my clothes were fitting me. Then I decided to lose weight and I had to weigh myself to see how much I could lose while still being healthy. I stepped on the scale, knowing what would happen. It never fails, once I start weighing myself I just can't stop. I'd do it every day, maybe even three times a day if I didn't tell myself not to. I'm not sure why I do that. I usually just get off the scale, shrug and say, "whatever," anyway.

We actually don't own a scale - we both eat healthy, exercise regularly and have never dieted and are happy with our weight and lifestyle - so we don't want to start paying attention to numbers and lose the focus on how we're eating and feeling!

Great post! I got a little choked up when I read the note on the scale. Hmmm. It really makes a girl think! I am totally guilty of this. Just this morning I was beating myself up, feeling like a fat pig for not sticking to my "points" yesterday. I stepped on the scale and it was lower than I thought. Immediately, I felt light and beautiful. I must admit, I had a little spring in my step for a good part of the day. Ridiculous! Anyway, thanks for the reminder... and the picture!

Great post!! Every woman needs to read this. we are SO much more than numbers, and each and every one of us has a special life to us...a life that is so much more meaningful and eternal than temporary vanity weight!

Love it. A number does NOT define us. And we can learn a little something about ourselves from the reaction that we have to that number too, I think... and what we plan on doing to improve our relationship with ourselves.
